MacAllister Machinery Arrives in Indianapolis
MacAllister Machinery Co., Indiana’s Caterpillar equipment dealer, celebrated a groundbreaking for its new headquarters on the Southeast side of Indianapolis this last Saturday, June 20th.
Dodging downpours, the event had a successful turnout of employees and community dignitaries anxious to see the new building site plans.
The 133 acre tract will house MacAllister’s new 345,000 square-foot headquarters, and will allow the company to consolidate its heavy equipment shops, parts warehouse, light equipment sales and service, and substantially all of its office and administrative functions. The new site is immediately inside the intersection of I-465 and I-74E.
MacAllister Machinery Co., established in 1945, celebrated its 70th anniversary earlier this month. The business is privately owned by the MacAllister family. Three generations of the MacAllister family participated in the groundbreaking event.
Chris MacAllister, President and COO, stated: “We have outgrown our facilities at 7515 E. 30th Street where we have been headquartered since 1966. The new facility will afford us plenty of room for growth and expansion. Most of our Indianapolis based team will be under one roof, a dynamic that will enhance efficiency, access, teamwork, and communications. Additionally, we remain on the east side of town where we have deep roots.”
